I'm back... missed you guys

We are back from Newport, Carson and Pasadena...

[I'll explain all that later]

I am babysitting Bolts who is becoming a fat little puppy who gets into mischief quite easy! I stopped watching her for one minute and she found a roll of paper towels and made a very big mess... UGH

Anyway, we went to see Grampa today and when we left I burst into tears... It will be a miracle if he lives longer than this week...   I think, it hit us, its almost over... he isn't eating at all anymore, he is on oxygen full time but he tried to visit with us the best he could... it was obvious it was draining him tho... it was really sad... we got him to smile a bunch of times tho... its hard for him to talk he is so tired... I guess he had a really bad night last night.  Angelo, [his new male nurse who lives there] told us he was up all night and asking Angelo to stay by his side he felt like he was going to pass out but I think he meant die... He is a fighter... I'd have given up long ago... He must weigh 90 pounds... I just lost it when we left.  I felt like it may have been the last time I see him alive and to me he has been a father longer than my own father... I don't want to start crying again...

Pam, if you read this... maybe you should think twice about going... I mean, do you really want to remember him that way? It's really sad... but if you do want to go... you know I will go with you...

For those of you who don't know... Pam's father was Grampa's brother... Uncle Al had the biggest funeral I have EVER been too! It was in a HUGE Catholic Church and it was standing room only!  Uncle Al was HUGE in the Boy Scouts, and at the local high school. During his viewing, boy scouts placed patches in his coffin [and trust me when I say this... it was OVERFLOWING with patches] Uncle Al was buried in his boy scout uniform with a  Hawaiian, shirt over his arm... in fact everyone was told to wear their favorite  Hawaiian shirt to the funeral! It looked more like a Luau Boy Scout Meeting than a funeral! All Uncle Al wore was Hawaiian shirts EVERYWEAR!

You see Grampa and Uncle Al were born in Hawaii near Diamond Head. Hence the name of Silva! It's Hawaiian Portuguese... Silva in Hawaii is like Smith here on the mainland. So in case you were wondering about our last name...

Well that is all I have to say about that...

Lisa Jo, I hope you are feeling better soon.  Please say some prayers for her as she is very sick.

It is sad, that Grandpa is really sick. I am just happy that when I went to go visit with him... he got all excited and his face lit up when I was asking his opinion on wedding stuff. He even told me about how if I did message in the bottle invitations that I should put extras in the box in case people cant get it out of the bottle. He also told me that he wanted us to his favorite song "your replacing me" by boone???? But it made me very sad to see him like that, its sad to think he wont be at the wedding ya kno? Im just happy he was in good spirits the last time I saw him.... **sigh** I love Grandpa~   See you saturday.
Love Ya-

I'm so sorry to read about your Grampa. So sad to see someone we love so sick. Heck, I used to get sad taking care of sick people that I didn't even know!  It's just awful.
Loved your pics.....your doggies are adorable!  Very cute!  Looks like your son is getting around pretty well there.
Thanks for reminding me to come over here. I put you on alerts. Will be back. And thank you for your good wishes.
