Before I go... I want to be...

A braggadocios Mother if you don't mind LOL

My son Kameron made this trash can in his welding fabrication school this week...

He had to take a sheet of  aluminum, cut it and then tig weld 5 pieces and make a trash can... I am pretty impressed with the final product! Don't you think its pretty? This week he has to fabricate and weld up a vase!  Using Tig or Mig or Aluminum welding something or other...

Anyway, just like a Mom who shows off finger-painting, I had to share my son's latest accomplishment LOL!

I am secure in the knowledge, that if he needs a job in the future... he can make trash cans for a living... j/k

Going to the Hi D AGAIN... LOL

However before I go.. I meant to tell you all but I keep forgetting...

Gram Pam FINALLY has a surgery date for her hysterectomy to remove uterine cancer...

September 11, 2008... So keep her in your thoughts and prayers...

Also to all the people about to face Hurricane Gustav my thoughts and prayers go out to you also...

Be good kids while I'm gone...

Gram Pam's comment in my last entry ;)

Oh and btw everyone, i have a surgery date of Sept. 11th..........plz keep those prayers coming, and thank you for all the prayers and thoughts you all have sent my way, i do appreciate them all!!

Love you all,

Gram Pam

Pics of Bolts, Rider, Mustang, Nova and Scrapbook

Its raining, Its pouring, The old man is snoring...
He bumped his head, and went to bed, and couldn't get up in the morning...

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee  Its raining today and I LOVE it!!!

LOVE IT ,LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

"It never rains in California...
The boys only warn ya"

Sam and I woke up this morning and he took me to breakfast at "Don and Sweet Sue's"
[Hi Nurse Pam, remember when we went there?]
It is a GREAT place for breakfast...
[Pa Walton from the Walton's owned it before he died, now the family still runs it and it is THE best food]
So...Sam and I sat outside [as did a bunch of people] it was cool enough and it was raining whoo hoo...
Afterwards, we came home, picked up Kameron and then headed to our office building.  We had to sign checks for the month... Ewwww.... and pick up a custom glass table top we had from a jobsite  [The designer on that job picked the wrong color glass and because it was custom, we couldn't send it back, it was supposed to go on a bar top]
It's really cool looking... 3 pieces of glass and the glass in the middle is cracked into a million pieces... like if you broke a window that was tempered... then placed that glass in between 2 regular pieces of glass...
Kameron is going to fabricate and weld a base for the glass and we are going to use it at the Hi D house for a coffee table... Ill take a picture of it... so you can understand what I am talking about...

After loading up a bunch of stuff to take to the hi d house... we came home...
Now Kameron and Sam are working on Kameron's 65 Nova... I went into the garage a few minutes ago and Bolts was sitting in the driver's seat like she owned the car... I took some pics... LOL

Some of you asked about Rider's birthday party the other day... Did he have a cake and doggie friends over?
Oh sure.... he had a  milkbone cake, they wore party hats, and tore up a PiƱata that looked like a cat... LOL Are you kidding me... You guys are funny... I just happened to look at something that had Rider's birthday on it and for once remembered it... Besides, Rider deserves an entry only about him... I feel like GiGi and Bolts get all the attention aroundhere, so I gave him a special day on my journal... You silly goose's!!!

Mary asked if he had his own scrapbook... and yes he does... Well actually he has some pages in the Family Book....
See...

While I was outside taking pictures... I took a picture of Kieffer's '66 Mustang he is working on...
He bought it himself,  registered it and pays for the insurance...

Monday thru Thursday words

Some explanation of the pictures I already posted... I am currently typing this on our new laptop, in bed... Weeeeee how fun is this!!! Its weird... I wish I could use this at the Hi D house but there is no wi fi up there so I would still be on dial up! Bummer...

Anyway, here is what has been going on up at the hi d house

Monday - we went up and Kieffer and his friend Kevin were already up there loading up the trailer to head to the dump.  After we helped them load some last minute trash stuff.  The monsoons started and it began to rain, big huge raindrops for about 30 minutes... I LOVE IT when that happens!!! We hardly ever get rain so when it happens its GREAT [get the lounge chairs out and watch]

Kieffer and Kevin had to pull over by the Oooom Dome because the rain was coming down so bad when they were headed to the dump!

While they were gone Sam and I cleaned up around the mulberry tree and put rocks around it!

Tuesday - Doug came up to help Sam put in more can lights in the kitchen area plus they put up 2 speakers [for  music] in the kitchen area and 2 speakers in the breezeway area. While they were doing that I started vacuuming up the carpet mess from construction!  Later Sam and I ran to Home Depot after he took me to breakfast...

I recently asked my dentist about a good vet up there for the dogs. Sam had a really bad dream about GiGi getting bit by a rattlesnake and wanted me to find a vet up there.  Did you know they have a rattlesnake vaccine the vet can give a dog? Weird huh!  Ohhhhhh.... BTW today is Riders birthday!!!  Rider is 8 years old today... Wow...where does the time go... maybe I will post some photos of my Rider when I am on my computer

Oh... never mind I found some...

Well anyway I am going to cut this short because I dont want to lose what I have typed LOL

SO Ill finish telling you all the stuff we did up at the Hi D for another entry...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIDER my Whiner-riner guy!!!!

Monday thru Thursday in my world

My weekend and Helga

Whew what a long weekend... and I STILL feel like poop! Ears popping, runny nose, blah blah blah... I am getting better but sheesh its taking forever!
Back to my weekend...
Saturday morning Sam and the boys took off for Glen Helen to practice because we had a race today [Sunday]... and I took off for Los Angeles to go shopping with Candice at the Brea Mall... She needed shoes and a special bra for her wedding dress [then she could take it to get it fitted] I felt like crap but we had a nice day of shopping... Candice's friend who also works at DL came along, so I called Nurse Pam to see if she could meet up with us too... but she had plans already...
Anyway, after Candice, her friend Charlene, and I were finished at the mall... I drove home [about 2 hours]... I came in the house, talked Sam into taking a nap with me and fell asleep for 2 hours!!!
After our nap, Sam and Kameron started working on Kameron's 65 Nova...
Remember that new car engine Kameron got for his graduation present 2 years ago? Well, they finally started to put it in the Nova! While they were hooking up the transmission to the engine... something happened and the transmission fell on Kameron's foot... He is lucky he didnt lose a toe! His big toe is black and blue and swollen!!! He could hardly put a slipper on this morning [Sunday] so we knew he couldn't race today in MX Boots!! So he stayed home and we took off for racing at Glen Helen [Trans-cal CMC Series] Kieffer was racing 250cc and 450cc Junior class or Novice actually... We call it the Nervous class because you have beginners who have just bumped up a class and sandbagging Intermediates who need to bump up to Intermediate!
Anyway we left at 6am and we came home at 5pm... I have to say it was SO GD HOT... Nurse Pam remember how humid it was the day you came out? Thailand-like... well now imagine racing in it all day!!! OMG it was so HOT...
98 degrees and humid... I wanted to die and I wasn't Kieffer in 12 lbs of gear!!!
In Kieffer's first moto he had a great start and was in 3rd place when he swabbed out in a turn [or in laymans terms he basically just fell over sideways from losing his balance] and he came in 19th... In his 2nd race he took a 7th place... [Then they race the races again... you get 2 chances to race and then they combine the score for your overall... get that?]
So in the race he took a 19th, the second time he took a 4th for a 9th overall...
In his other race he took 7th place again for a 6th overall... Did you get that? OK, well anyway... he had arm pump really bad... when the blood rushes to your arms and they cramp up and you can't feel them... So after 5 weeks off racing, in the heat from Hell... we were very happy with his results...

Now its Monday morning and we are heading up to the Hi Desert house... I cannot WAIT to get out of here... Its like Thailand outside again today only worse!!! Maybe more like living in swamp country... Its is SO humid I can't take it!!!!!!!!!!! The Hi D house will be so nice and cool... Yippee, Woooo Hoo.... Weeeeeeee.....
Kieffer and Kameron are coming up to work too.. Ill take pics...
Oh and I have an announcement to make... You know how I give my dogs names and voices [like if they were human]
Example: Rider has an upper crust English voice... "Oh Really Mother, why must you bother me so?"
Candice lil Chihuahua has a pepe le pou voice when he talks to GiGi "Ohhh Mon Cheri, I love you... Give it to me... my big black bitch!"
Gi Gi [My black Weim] is actually Large Marge because She is in CHARGE!!

OK I am weird I know... OK so Sam and I have decided Bolts [Kameron's white pit bull] is actually

{Helga from the German Woman's Wrestling Team} because she loves to wrestle and chase GiGi and she loves beer... [If Sam accidentally knocks over a Becks Beer, she laps it up and can't get enough!]

So Bolts sounds like this...
"Im Hel-ga... from zee Veemans Vrrestling Team, Vhere is my beer? and Vhere is my Gi Gi, she is my Vrrestling Partner from Kenya"

[Kenya because GiGi is black and runs fast LOL]

Too much time on my hands... I know... but that is how my dogs sound in human... LOL  What do you your dogs sound like?

Hi Everybody...

Been missing me? Of course you have... I know that... Sheesh... duh!  I have been battling allergies or something... My head has been so clogged up! My ears have been plugged... Anyway,  I have been wiped out recently... so please forgive me...

I have had so much going on... besides remodeling the Hi Des kitchen, having a WONDERFUL play date with Nurse Pam,
Getting my teeth finished, Going to Candice's Bridal shower, Spending a girl day with Gram Pam [shopping for new clothes, getting nails done and eyebrows waxed] and finally today putting on my Real Estate Salesperson outfit and hanging my lic with a Broker... Yaaaaaa or as my friend Amber from High School would say weeeeeeeeeee, I am a grown up!

Since getting my Real Estate Lic. I haven't activated it [you have to hang it under a Broker for 2 years and then you can take the test to become a Broker yourself] My only problem is... I am not your average real estate salesperson... I do NOT want to be under a high pressured Broker, demanding I make sales... I needed to find a Broker who would let me do my own thing... I only got the lic to be able to sell and buy our own properties and not have to pay 6% to someone else... Anyway, finding someone like that has been next to impossible but I finally did... Weeeeeee, Yippeeeeeee, Yahooooo...  So I signed the papers and sent them to the DRE today [Department of Real Estate]  Its such a nice arrangement too... I don't have to pay a bunch of fees that Brokers usually charge to do it either! I only have to pay her half of my commission for the next 2 years... SWEET!!!
Remember my old friend Artie who passed away almost 3 years ago? Well, his wife Dolores is hanging her lic. under the same Broker's lic. also!
So, Ruth [the Broker], Dolores and I went out to lunch afterwards. I had the best time... Then Dolores and I started looking up properties near our Hi Desert house...  Sam and I want to pick up foreclosures or tax lien auction properties and Sam can fix them up and we will flip them... If we can't flip them for the amount we want then we will hang on to the property and rent them out... We can get fixer upper's on 2 to 5 acres up there for $30,000 to $60,000...  People would be crazy not to buy them at $90,000 to $120,000 because rent would be more expensive than owning a home there... and if we have to hold on to the properties that is ok because in 15 years they will be worth triple the amount, meanwhile renters will be paying off the mortgage for us!  I would even consider being the lender on the properties! If they default on the loan we get the property back anyway! Where else could we get 6 to 7% interest on our money anyway?  Its something Sam and I want to do in the near future... So Monday, Dolores and I are going to go look at a bunch of properties up there...

So anyway... that is what has been going on here... send some get better vibes for my allergies or summer head cold or whatever the hell it is that won't go away!!!!

Candice's bridal shower day

Ok.. how is it possible I have a daughter getting married?  When did I get so old?WTH?  J/K...

I just wanted to say to everyone complaining about no teeth pics... I wanted to wait to show my daughter for the first time in person...  She is the whole reason I did my teeth... to smile at her wedding and bridal shower... and today I get to do that...

Anyway I will take lots of pics and try to catch up on my journal stories... Especially the day Nurse Pam came out... She left out tons in her journal... [Nurse Pam, no entry about the baptism? or our fans at breakfast? or the 'easy' button we got to push when shopping?... Have no fear I will fill you all in on it!]

Well I have to go get ready, then pick up Mike Bob Bill's Grandma, she is going with me and Gram Pam to the shower...

I can't wait to see all my old high school friends! Our kids are best friends like us!!! Plus there will be babies there... Ooooo I love babies... Emma ship Connor out here ASAP!!!

I'm alive I swear... just crazy busy at the moment!!!

Ok... 30 lashings with a wet noodle for me for not keeping up with entries...
I have had a crazy, fun filled, j land sista coming to visit kind of week!!!
[with  allergies to boot]
So let me update quickly [if I can] because Gram Pam is coming and tomorrow is my daughters Wedding Shower!!!!

Where to begin? ahhh yes Monday... my teeth...  Would you believe after waiting for 5 days to pass last week I was actually late for my appointment?
I have been 15 minutes early for every other appointment and then 5 minutes late for that one... I was freaking out, so I called Nurse Pam and she talked to me the whole way up the mountain... I was speeding in my little Frederica the Ford Focus... the whole thing was so funny... telling her to hold on when a cop went by because you can't talk on your cell phone while driving  anymore... She was laughing at me, telling me to blog about the drive up there...
Anyway, so I get up there and get my perfect teeth ;), then my dentist says 'soft foods only'...  I didn't care... I had teeth...  I actually drove home looking in my rear view mirror at my teeth and talking to myself!  People must have thought I was crazy... but I didn't care... I was off the Senior Discount List!!!!  Whoo Hoo!!!
The next day Tuesday, Kieffer had a dentist appointment too... So I took him, then he had to work at clearing out the high desert kitchen with Doug [a guy who works for us] because the new kitchen was coming...
Below is after they took out the old kitchen...
Below Kieffer is bored...

Later on Tuesday I had to drive back to the dentist for an adjustment...
[that is tech talk for grinding and buffing out areas that are giving me sore spots! To be honest with you, I was in SO much pain! I was getting kind of discouraged thinking I would have pain like this for how long? afterwards when he did the adjustments, it was better but man was my mouth sore!!!]

So I was up at the high desert house and I only have the slow mo dial up lap top up there...

Ok so then on Wednesday, I talked to Nurse Pam and she was coming the next morning... I was so excited!
I told Sam "Ok, when my friend is here... you have to be my hunk o hunk of burning love..." he started laughing and said "Oh... that is going to cost you...!" and I laughed...
Later that night, he wanted me to help him do something and I didn't want to... so he said "Oh Wow, I am having a vision" I laughed "A vision of what?"  he says "A vision of when your friend is here!"  "Oh really?"  "Yup it sounds something like this.... "Hey Bitch...... Get me a beer" I almost pee'd my pants laughing...

Sorry guys have to go for now....

 to be continued...

Below is the new kitchen without the counters, appliances, and flooring yet

This is the granite counter samples we are choosing from...

Sign of the times... I guess

36 more hours to go... I cannot wait!! I am sick of looking like the cartoon Maxine
[huh Gram Pam]

If someone asked me what the hardest part of this whole procedure was... I would say the eating!  I am however getting pretty good at what I can and cannot eat... I actually had 2 pieces of pizza yesterday!
Your probably thinking "How the heck did you manage that with no teeth?"  I had to cut it up into pill size pieces and swallow it LOL... Where there is a will, there is a way when it involves pizza LOL

Anyway, on to the Olympics and swimming again...  Watching the swimming brings back so many memories for me....  I remember my Dad was a time keeper or Judge  [you see them waiting for the swimmers to touch the wall and then they stop their stopwatches, they also make sure they touch the wall etc..] OK so my heat was up, and I lost track of time playing around with friends! Suddenly, I heard the heat being called and started running... Well, my Dad just happened to be in my lane judging!  I was still in my athletic sweat pants [A zippered jacket and sweat pants] well my jacket zipper jammed and everyone is looking at me to start the race... so I finally said "Dad help me pull it over my head" and he did...  Ill never forget the look on his face, as he is helping me undress while everyone was watching!!!

Ill also never forget the look on his face when I brought home a 'D' in PE for swimming! I couldn't help it... First of all it was 1st period in the winter... and 2nd of all, I didn't need to learn how to swim... I was already competing in a club type level! That got me grounded for a month...
Oh well...

Not long after that I gave up competitive swimming... I was having swimmers ear all the time... plus I constantly had a green tint to my hair, andI was so tired of feeling cold and wet all the time!  After every practice, you could find 3 or 4 girls standing under each shower head in the locker room just trying to keep warm!
Still to this day, I can't stand getting dressed when I am not dry... The way your clothes stick to you... Eeeeewww I HATE that! Plus I hate getting out of a pool or Jacuzzi and being cold...
I guess I will never be a Navy Seal... Oh well...

Ok I wrote that last night and it is Sunday morning... 24 more hours to go... today better go quickly! I woke up, took a shower and headed over to CVS to get Sam some cough drops, he has a summer cold... when I walked out the front door I noticed a 5 gallon Sparkletts water jug across the street with some brown liqued in it? I went over and smelled it... yup gasoline... I looked back to our porch and all our water bottles [5] were gone... GREAT! they are $8 a bottle to replace them... As I drove down the street I noticed two of the empty bottles were laying in neighbors lawns... WTH? So I stopped and got them... they too smelled like gas... Somebody was out stealing gas last night and I am not happy about it! I have been telling Sam we need to get locks for the gas caps ever since someone stole Lisa Jo's gas...
Sign of the times I guess...

Olympic swimming...

I am still in a funk, still in my robe, sleeping a lot waiting for my teeth... Less than 48 more hours...
Sigh...

When I am not asleep I have been watching the Olympic coverage... I watched Volleyball  [Candice played in high school], later I watched swimming...  I still trip out watching the 'new rules'... See when I was swimming... When you were doing 'butterfly' and 'breast stroke' the water could not go above your forehead or you were DQ'd... Now they can put their whole head underwater and it trips me out...  they still have to touch with 2 hands when doing 'breast' and 'butterfly'... that has stayed the same... and I do like the guys new bathing suits... the other ones were awful!

8-08-2008 Olympics...

I am still in my robe... I have been all day... I am still in a major funk waiting for my teeth...

I did however feel better after Nurse Pam called me and we talked for 2 hours... She totally made me laugh and I am grateful... Thanks GIRLFRIEND!!!!  I needed that ;)  She is coming out to hang out on Thursday... YAY, we will take pics and share them!!!

On to the Olympics...I am sitting here watching the opening ceremonies and all I can say is WOW...
I feel sorry for the next host city! How in the world can they compete?  It was amazing!!!  I also never realized how many countries compete that I didn't even know existed!! Maybe I need to get a world map and hang it up in my office LOL...
[ya right like that will happen]

I can remember so many Olympics growing up... [If you didnt know I was a competitive swimmer/diver growing up]  the year Mark Spitz won 7 gold medals... I won 6 gold medals and 1 silver in a major competition that same year...
I can remember being in Dayton Ohio watching Nadia win Olympic gold in Gymnastics that summer... I think I was 11? I remember the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles... everyone was so freaked out the freeways would be gridlock, most of the city went to Europe! I had a friend who said being overseas was like being in Los Angeles! The freeways were GREAT during that time! No bumper to bumper at all!  I remember going down to USC, it was where the athletes village was... That was cool!

Anyway, I am excited BMX is there for the first time... maybe Motocross will be next... LOL ya right!

Anyway gotta go to bed...

GO USA!!!

My week... ho hum

Thursday afternoon 2:38pm...

I am back home from the Hi D house... We left on Sunday and headed up there... Remember I had a Dental appointment on Monday [I thought it was on Tuesday but it was on Monday] I was excited to get my teeth...
I am SICK of being a toofess wonder,
I am SICK of what I can't eat!
Well, I went to my dentist appointment... and I didn't get my teeth... its was my final time to change something... like color, size whatever... I also had to have him pull out those boney fragments in my gum... Anyway, they said I would have my teeth at my next appointment Thursday at 2pm... [Today!]  I also was able to bring home a photo of me with the teeth that were finished... SO I could show Sam... he liked them, and they grew on me the more I looked at the photo... You see I always had big bugs bunny teeth in the front so to see 'normal' perfect teeth in front was weird to me...

Ok so that all happened on Monday...

Tuesday... was a strange day! We woke up to Monsoons threatening to rain on us for most of the morning... I was thrilled... We haven't been having very much rain lately! We heard thunder and then the electricity went out! You never realize how much you use electricity till its out!  Anyway, I walked outside and started looking around at the storm and what do we see off in the distance? Oooo a tornado... ya an actual tornado!

It made the front page of the local paper today! I took pics of it but my camera was on the wrong setting so they are not that good...It was gone as quickly as it came but YIKES... I don't like tornados... Ill take earthquakes over them anyday! Sheesh... its the second one to come within 30 miles of me this year!!! WTH?
As we were scanning the horizon looking for any more that might touch down, I noticed a huge thing of water going up in the sky about 2 streets over from us... We thought someone must have hit the fire hydrant!
So there we are, no electricity and no water! We decided to load the dogs up in the car and head to town, we figured the electricity would be back on by the time we came back... We drove by to see what was up with the water being off... It was a water main pipe that erupted and they didn't know when the water would be back on... Great... so we headed to town... I stayed in the car with the dogs, while Sam ran into Walmart for some stuff and then he stayed in the car while I ran into the grocery store for some more food... We were in town a good 2 hours and when we came back... still no electricity and no water... darn it! So we sat in the swing, he read the paper and I read another book [Since having my teeth removed I have read 4 books and I am currently starting the 5th!] A couple of hours later the water came on and then the electricity came back... YAY!!!!  We bar b queued a tri tip, which I could eat as long as I cut it up into tiny pieces, it was yummy!
Then we took a Jacuzzi and went to bed...
I was counting the hours and days till Thursday... I couldn't wait to get my teeth FINALLY!!!

Wednesday -
A guy named Doug who use to work for us, came up to the Hi D house to do the electrical for the newkitchen... Oh boy, what a mess the kitchen is up there right now... he put in 4 recessed cans and pulled the electrical for the new fan.
Then him and Sam had to pull the electrical for the new stove [vent a hood] because the new kitchen cabinets go in next week...
In the middle of all of this, my dentist office called... So I told Sam... he said "Hey maybe your teeth are finished early and you can go get them!" with high hopes I returned the call... I found out... my teeth will not be back from the lab until Monday... They were calling to reschedule my appointment! My heart sank! I hung up the phone and burst into tears... I can't tell you how disappointed I am... I am in the biggest funk...  I know it is only 5 more days but I am so tired of this... I know it will all be worth it in 5 days but still... I am bummed ... having a pity party...
I went to bed and slept the rest of the day away...

Thursday...
Today we came home and it was raining... perfect for my mood I have to tell you!  I would have had my teeth today! Anyway... I have been killing time reading journals and catching up... happy alerts are finally back on...
Anyway... that is what has been going on in my world...
