3 weeks ago Kameron got this hard nodule on his ass [for lack of a better term] It kept growing and growing... I thought he got bit by a black widow or something... Today I took him to Urgent Care because it was the size of half a grapefruit!
The Dr. and Nurse asked me
"Are you sure you want to be in here for this?"
"Oh ya I'm sure"
[Hey Dr. Kendra is always up for learning new procedures! Have to keep up in the medical field yanno... Duh!]
They had to numb it and take a scalpel and cut it open... OMG the white oozing stuff that came out and out and out... then they packed it and he has to return Sunday for another packing... Lovely!!
Sheesh!
He had the Dr. and nurse's laughing so much... At the end he looked at it and said
"Oh Wow... look how good my butt looks in this light" they were cracking up...
So anyway, it wasn't a widow bite, it was a staph infection called MRSA...
I hate STAPH infections... I got extremely sick with one in 2000... I had sores all over my body from it... It was horrible!
Anyway, Kameron said it was ok to show you guys "His sexy ass with a Band-Aid, after all your family right?" so here ya go... LOL
What is MRSA?
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterium that causes infections in different parts of the body. It's tougher to treat than most strains of staphylococcus aureus -- or staph -- because it's resistant to some commonly used antibiotics.
What causes it?
Garden-variety staph are common bacteria that can live on our bodies. Plenty of healthy people carry staph without being infected by it. In fact, 25-30% of us have staph bacteria in our noses.
But staph can be a problem if it manages to get into the body, often through a cut. Once there, it can cause an infection. Staph is one of the most common causes of skin infections in the U.S. Usually, these are minor and don't need special treatment. Less often, staph can cause serious problems like infected wounds or pneumonia.
the average age of a person with CA-MRSA was only 23.

Make sure he takes ALL of those antibiotics! MRSA is TERRIBLE! I've taken care of patients in isolation rooms if they have it in their blood, or lungs.
