I am not into Christmas this year... Dont know why exactly... Maybe its because my kids are grown... I'm just a bah humbug this year... I feel bad too because Sam's birthday is Christmas Eve... he turns 50... Whoa..
I do not have a tree [OK I have a 2 foot fake tree behind the couch in the corner] I call it our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree... We do not have lights on the house outside, I did not put up the garland and lights on the stairway, I loved all the cards I got but I did not send one card to anyone....I am telling you.... the kids are not into it, and I am not into it either...
"Mom its fine seriously, we get so much all year round... dont even worry about it" Kieffer said... and that was all I needed to hear...
Hey... I have done my time for Christmas... I swear I do not know how I survived it when the kids were little... The Christmas Programs, [being the Mom in the program - you know... 'I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus'... plus having to make the costumes for my kids - Kris was one of the wise men or kings or whatever it was] working in the 'Santa Shop' for the 8th grade fundraiser, going to the $500 a table charity events with Mrs. Bob Hope or Mrs. Sinatra as Chairperson, wrapping all the gifts for 5 kids, teachers, baby-sitters, car pooler family, and the partridge in a pear tree... oh and ofcourse Santa ALWAYS had his own paper with Santa's all over them...
Buying the 'Christmas clothes, Christmas jammies and ofcourse helping with all the toys that said 'some assembly required' which really means 'you need an engineering degree with some auto mechanic skills thrown in'
After being awakened at 4 in the morning to dress Grampa in his Santa suit... crawling back in bed afterwards... and then awakened by excited kids wanting to open gifts... I had 18 to 24 people here for dinner...
[One year I had an EXTREME HANGOVER too... that was not fun]
I always sent cards, had a Martha Stewart perfect dining room table with hand made name cards on it [because you cant put so in so next to so in so]
Anyway... I have earned the right to say 'Bah Humbug' this year... thats my story and I'm stickin to it...
Merry Christmas...

OK Scrooge!! LOL I would have loved to see mommy kissing Santa Claus. You got through all those years because you did what a mom is supposed to do and you should be real proud of yourself. Now go and have a nice Christmas.

this Christmas is the worst in recent memory.....i can not wait for it to be over with....i ran out of $$ to send Christmas cards and got so many more than i can send...do you think i should mail the ones i cant afford to mail in a month when i have more money or wait till 2008?

I have a baby here and it just isn't right still... I'm missing my whole family together (not with John~I mean my brothers, sisters, inlaws, nieces, nephews, etc). I hope next year will be better. You'll get the Christmas spirit again when you get a grandchild which could be soon I mean your daughter is getting married now.
Take care and Hugs, Chrissie

No one will be expecting your family(or at least they should not be expecting) to do too much for Christmas with Sam's Father so ill. It is terrible that he is, but the fact that you know & can make his last Christmas special, just by being with him, is all anyone should expect of you. Sending good vibes & a hope for a peaceful time. ~Mary
